Deanna Sperling, CEO and President-RWJBH Behavioral Health – Deanna provided an update to all the attendees on the state of mental health in Ocean County as well as a detailed overview of the Center and all its programs and services. From 100 adult and older adult inpatient beds to outpatient services, the clinicians provide diagnoses and treatments for any behavioral health disorder from depression and anxiety to complicated grief and post traumatic stress disorder as well as any chronic psychiatric disorder such as schizophrenia. Joe Cuffari who oversees the Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services (PESS) units was also in attendance. With one phone number (800.300.0628) it is a simple and efficient process to be admitted and access all programs and services at not only the Center in Toms River but all the psychiatric services (eating disorder unit, addictions services and treatments options for children and adolescents, etc) within RWJBarnabas Health in NJ. Ms. Sperling also discussed the Center’s on going collaboration with numerous Ocean County and law enforcement agencies.
