N.J. Department of Community Affairs
Division of Local Government Services
Tim Cunningham who is relatively new to his post took the opportunity to introduce himself to the mayors and thus to the communities his department serves. Tim comes to the Christie administration by way of Passaic County where he served as Deputy Administrator. He joined state government in 2011 as the Assistant Commissioner for the Sandy Recovery Division and Senior Policy Liaison to the Governor’s Office of Recovery and Rebuilding. Tim advised the Governor, Lt. Governor, and cabinet officials and helped implement reforms to the state’s personal injury protection insurance regulations and its unemployment insurance fund. He also helped set up the Camden County Regional Police Force that has reduced crime in the beleaguered city of Camden. Tim remained after the meeting was adjourned to speak with individual mayors and others.
