In the rivers, lagoons, and Barnegat Bay from the Navesink River to the Rt. 72 Long Beach Island bridge, he said, workers have removed 30,000 cubic yards of debris, including 48 boats, three cars and three houses that washed into the bay near Mantoloking. Summer boating will be “pretty safe,” he said, but warned that there will still be pieces of floating lumber and other potential hazards to watch for.
