The treasurer’s report was approved. Mayor Emeritus then presented the slate of officers for our 2026 election.

With no nominations from the floor, the presented slate was approve by the membership. Congratulations to our 2026 officer.

Mayor Curtis then called upon Vice President Mayor Sue Marshall to introduce the guest speaker.


President Mayor Curtis opened the meeting to Privilege of the Floor.

Mayor Curtis called upon 2nd Vice President Mayor John Peterson.

Mayor Peterson spoke in length about the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) “Real” Rules in their current form.
This prompted a membership discussion which led to the OCMA adopting Resolution 2026 -01 “Resolution of the Ocean County Mayors’ Association, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, Opposing the NJDEP “REAL” Rules in their current form.
Privilege of the floor then continued with New Jersey Conference of Mayors Executive Director – Amanda M. De Palma

Amanda spoke of the upcoming NJCM 61st Annual Spring Conference – May 19-21, 2026.
Mayor Curtis recognized a couple of honorary members attending.

Brittany spoke about the Save Barnegat Bay Spring Workshop “Charting A Course for Barnegat Bay Clean Water, Stronger Communities to be held on March 17, 2026.
