New Jersey League of Municipalities – Deputy Executive Director/Director Government Affairs Lori spoke about many issues facing municipalities. She talked about the state budget to include grant funding in 2024 for New Jersey State Health Benefits. She also spoke about state budget funding for seaside boardwalks. She presented information about liquor license reform. Ms. Buckelew provided a packet of information to the attendees. Click this link to view the information. Lori spoke about the League website and their “Lunch and Learn” series; a great tool for municipal staff. She also mentioned March 29th is Mayor’s Legislative Day and April 16-22 is Local Government Week – designed to promote the municipal workplace.
In addition, the OCMA Executive Officers accepted with regrets the resignation of 2nd Vice President Brick Mayor John Ducey. Mr. Ducey stepped down from both roles to accept a judgeship appointment. This vacancy will be filled at a later meeting.
