Vice Chair, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees
Mark Montenero provided an overview of Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH), the importance of the work of CSH Foundation, and the impact that the new CSH outpatient center will have on children in Toms River and surrounding areas. CSH treats more than 35,000 children at their 15 locations across the state each year who are living with chronic illness, complex physical disabilities like those caused by brain or spinal cord injuries, and a full scope of developmental, behavioral and mental health concerns. More than 5,000 children are treated annually in Toms River alone.
CSH ranks #1 in patient outcomes, is the largest regional provider of autism services, and has been ranked by Newsweek as a World’s Best Specialized Hospital two years in a row. The newly constructed outpatient center located at Route 37 and St. Catherine’s Boulevard was funded by donations to CSH Foundation’s Transforming Lives capital campaign and will make a tremendous impact on the health of children in our area. Available services include developmental and behavioral pediatrics, neurology, psychology, and occupational, physical and speech therapy. CSH occupies more than half of the space in the new building and shares the facility with Community Medical Center. This combined occupancy improves the quality and delivery of healthcare in the area by combining primary and specialty care in one location
