Michael Forcella, Director

Recovery New Jersey Talent Network,
Manager of Business Engagement & Professional Education

Michael Forcella described the efforts of the Recovery New Jersey Talent Network to help businesses displaced or disrupted by Hurricane Sandy. That involves bringing employers and potential employees together and providing programs that can help. At one end, the program finds employable talent from various backgrounds and experience. At the other end, the effort involves locating the businesses that can use the help. In between, he said, the program can link both workers and job seekers to valuable resources, including training programs.

One problem, Mr. Forcella noted, was seeing that a particular business was no longer operating in an affected community but being unable to locate the owner. Mr. Forcella urged the mayors to be aware of such instances and provide contact information when they have it.

Mr. Forcella suggested a visit to a N.J. Department of Labor web site, http://jobs4jersey.com/.
