Our Guest in April: John Adler

On Monday, April 20, Congressman John Adler updated Ocean County’s mayors on county issues that involve the federal government, including beach replenishment and a second highway crossing between Long Beach Island and the mainland. Adler represents New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District including Ocean County in the U.S. House of Representatives. Adler said the county’s largest employers are military basis and health care facilities, and that he and others in the N.J. delegation are working to bring more federal aid to financially struggling hospitals in the region. Meanwhile small businesses are critical to the county, he said, noting that the Small Business Administration is trying harder to provide small business loan guarantees. He also said that Washington is working to thaw a frozen bond market so local governments can fund capital projects. The congressman provided his cell phone number to the mayors urging them to “keep talking to me.”
