N.J.’s 3rd Congressional District
On this first visit with the Association, Rep. Jon Runyon updated the mayors on recent developments in Washington, D.C. The congressman said he was frustrated by partisanship and the failure of legislators to find common ground and build on it. He said he was working hard on behalf of shore interests, sports fishing and beach protection for example, and for the expansion of the Joint Base – McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
Later in the meeting, Betsy Hyle spoke on behalf of Stan Hales, Director of the Barnegat Bay Partnership, to say that the group had released a draft of its 2012-2016 Strategic Plan. She urged the mayors to read the document and provide feedback.
