Tom MacArthur, U.S. Representative

New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District

We thank Rep. MacArthur’s Director of Constituent Services, Norikl Kowalewski for providing this report:

Congressman MacArthur talked about what he has been doing and focusing on in Congress. He talked about the Air Force’s KC-46 refuelers, and the great news that they will be brought to the Joint Base. He talked about the heroin epidemic, being on the task force, and about the bill that would allow a broader classification for what qualifies as a family member so that families can help out loved ones struggling with addiction.

He talked about being placed on the financial services committee and how the Flood Insurance Program is a top priority and one of the main reasons he accepted the position. He basically said that if they take away affordable flood insurance, the shore will become a place for only the very wealthy and we will lose our shore communities. He talked very briefly about his vote and Obama care, just saying that they need to have a plan. He talked about bi-partisanship and working across the aisle to get things done.
